Reblogged this on I'M NOT "TRANSGENDER" ANY MORE.
Reddit also has a new Gender Critical sub: http://www.reddit.com/r/GenderCritical/new/
It was created a month ago and is attempting to be a “radical feminist and women centered community.” Quite a challenge for the dude broarchy that is reddit but so far so good.
I like how the term “gender critical” has come up again and again this past month and a half of so. I don’t remember seeing those two words “gender” and “critical” together before, or if they were without as much purpose as they seem to have now. Is this a new movement or something? I remember first seeing “gender critical” in a blog post by Elizabeth Hungorford about a month ago titled “A Gender Critical Response to: A Statement of Trans-Inclusive Feminism and Womanism”. Then I saw it as a title of a subreddit (/r/Gendercritical). Now I see it as the title of a blog aggregator. Perhaps it is a response to the idea of “trans critical” but without being trans focused (ie male focused) and instead being focused more on the original feminist concept of gender as destructive to women, and therefore more female focused?
